Freak October Snow Storm

Saturday, October 29th.  The day started out well, a cold final soccer game of the season.

 Good job goalie!

 After the game, we eat!
Trophy presentation.  Then we went home and watched the snow begin to fall...
Measuring the snow on the deck on Sunday morning.  We had lost power Saturday night.
Measuring 13 inches, you can just see the tip of the ruler.
Tree down in the front yard
 Snow on the fall wreath.

 Another tree
 Split down the middle
 Jonah very excited to sled

 Tree weighted down with snow
 Snow sticking to the leaves
Hauling in wood for the fire
The stoop doesn't normally disappear until January.  Those roundish lumps are our pumpkins.

 Tree down on the driveway
Take a good look at the mailbox now, I don't have a lot of hope for it this winter.
Jonah trying to use his sled as a snowboard.  Adding yet another winter sport to his repertoire.

 Helping the tree stand up
Couple of new words the boys came up with for this storm.  Peter said, Snowicane: a snow storm with hurricane like effects.  Jonah said, Jack o'man: a snowman with a jack o'lantern head.

Dinner that night a roast John made on the grill!

The evening's entertainment; Grandma reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle as the boys fall asleep.
