Final Days of Summer

We have said goodbye to summer a few times this year.  Every time we think it's gone we get a reprieve and we are grateful and take full advantage each time!
End of Summer-Take One
This is what we thought was the last day of summer vacation, back in August.  Before heading out to the pool for the day the boys and I took a little hike to a waterfall near our house.

 Finally here!

Take our picture on the bridge!

So this is what we thought was our last day of summer but then hurricane Irene came and school was delayed for a week.

I tried to shop the day before the storm for water...
Emergency shelter in the basement, just in case.  Didn't need it.  Thankfully

Dinner in the dark.  We were without power/water for 5 days.  The first pic is with the flash the second one is more true to life.

After the hurricane school started and we really thought we had said goodbye for good to summer.  But then came this weekend.  Columbus day weekend was beautiful and some friends invited us to go with them to Maine for the holiday weekend.  Of course we jumped at the chance!

Playing on the beach in Old Orchard, Maine.  It was 85 degrees on October 9th!

Hey, when ya gotta go.  Ya gotta go.  Peter is not shy.
Columbus Day dinner at the Lobster Shack.  I think this should become a tradition.
